Koshiro lived a simple and tranquil life in the rural area of Tanjozan-bun in Echigo, surrounded by the love of his family, including his father, Sakuhei. Sakuhei worked for Tanjozan-bun, ensuring stability for their household. One day, a group of officials from Tanjozan-bun unexpectedly visited Koshiro's home. It was then that Sakuhei revealed a startling truth to his son about his lineage. Koshiro learned that he was, in fact, the son of the feudal lord, Ikko-sai.

The surprises did not end there. To Koshiro's astonishment, Ikko-sai decided to retire and pass on the title of feudal lord directly to him. Initially, Koshiro considered this a stroke of extraordinary fortune. However, he soon discovered a grim reality: Tanjozan-bun was buried under an overwhelming amount of debt that urgently needed repayment.
