In 1961, Bob Dylan moved to New York City with the hope of meeting his hospitalized idol, Woody Guthrie. During a visit to Guthrie in the hospital, Dylan also met Pete Seeger, a close friend of Guthrie. Dylan performed one of his original songs for the two folk music legends, leaving a strong impression on them. Seeger invited Dylan to stay with his family, gradually introducing the newcomer to New York City's burgeoning folk music scene. At a concert, Dylan crossed paths with Suze Rotolo, whose rebellious ideas and intriguing tales of working at carnivals captivated him. He charmed her by offering a peanut, sparking a romance between them. Shortly after, Dylan moved into her apartment.
