Four years later, following the death of a great white shark, a new hotel opened on Amity Island. However, another great white shark attacked two divers who were filming the wreckage of the Orca. The divers’ camera was recovered during the incident. Shortly after, the same shark targeted a water skier. The boat's driver attempted to defend herself using a gas canister and a flare gun, but the vessel exploded, resulting in her death and severely burning the shark's face.
