The Cantonese dessert shop "Cheung Hing Kee," nestled in Kowloon City, was established three decades ago by husband-and-wife duo Cheung Hing and Sau Lin. Beloved by locals for its signature red bean soup, the shop became a cherished part of the neighborhood. The family's eldest daughter, Shing Yip, pursued her dream of soaring the skies as a flight attendant, while her younger brother, Kai Cheung, enjoyed a carefree life as a university student—an archetypal Teochew family dynamic.

However, their tranquil existence was shattered when Sau Lin suffered a sudden stroke that left her in a vegetative state, plunging the family into disarray. Out of compassion and determination, Shing Yip resigned from her job to return home, taking on responsibilities at the shop to ease her father's burden. Yet, Cheung Hing showed little appreciation for her sacrifices, and with Sau Lin's absence, maintaining harmony among the three proved challenging.

As Kowloon City underwent urban redevelopment, property developers began reclaiming buildings, leaving "Cheung Hing Kee" on the brink of closure. At this turbulent time, Shing Yip's Canadian boyfriend, Yu Cheung, proposed to her, urging her to join him in Canada. Faced with such life-altering decisions and the swelling tides of changing times, what lies ahead for "Cheung Hing Kee" and Shing Yip's future?
