In London, filmmaker Zoe Stevenson documents the lives of her British-Pakistani neighbors, focusing in particular on her childhood best friend, Kazim "Kaz" Khan, and his arranged marriage to a bride from Pakistan. Determined to honor his parents' wishes, Kaz insists on pursuing the arrangement despite Zoe's skepticism, emphasizing the effectiveness of such unions. Eventually, a Muslim matchmaker named Mo sets up a video call between Kaz and a young woman from Pakistan named Maymouna. While Kaz develops a liking for her, Maymouna appears somewhat hesitant.
