A young French journalist traveled to Japan to investigate the phenomenon of "lonely deaths" that emerged after the 1995 Kobe earthquake. During her visit to Kobe, she interviewed several individuals and met Kenji Ishida (played by Hiroshi Abe). Through her inquiry, she discovered that Kenji had worked as a photojournalist during the Kobe earthquake.
