Seven iconic Hong Kong film directors, whose names alone are enough to excite movie enthusiasts, came together to create an anthology film celebrating the essence of Hong Kong. Produced by Johnnie To, this seven-part collection spans stories from the 1950s to the present day, with each director contributing a 10-minute short.

Sammo Hung reminisces about his childhood martial arts training in *Practice*, while Ann Hui's *Headmaster* portrays the heartfelt connections between elementary school teachers and students in the 1960s, finding warmth and generosity even amidst poverty. Patrick Tam's *Tender is the Night* captures the bittersweet emotions of first love and heartbreak during adolescence. In *Homecoming*, Yuen Woo-ping explores the intergenerational bond between an elderly kung fu master and his granddaughter.

Johnnie To’s *Tycoon* paints a vivid picture of the late 1990s to early 2000s, a tumultuous period marked by the Asian financial crisis, the dot-com bubble, and the SARS outbreak. It focuses on young people's obsession with stock market speculation during those times. Ringo Lam’s *Lost* reflects on the passing of a father devoted to the old Hong Kong he loved, poignantly contrasting the past and present. Finally, Tsui Hark’s *Deep Dialogue* offers a humorous take on his appreciation for contemporary cinema and filmmaking, all set against a futuristic world plagued by communication barriers.
